Männer, lol. is a short film by media design students at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts that caricatures toxic masculinity. Jens and Bernd are men who have been spit out by a society that demands them to be strong, successful, and smart. They are unable to admit their weaknesses. Instead, they try to compensate for them with half-baked superiority in their little niches where no one can outdo them. The weaknesses of each individual are only revealed by the others to get themselves out of the firing line. The men do not manage to support each other in their strengths in order to get out of their misery. They seem trapped in an endless battle for hierarchy within the group. The situation goes round in circles and escalates into a full-blown confrontation.

The project was created in collaboration with media design students from Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, with Christian Elias Breuckmann directing.
