Peter Bendt's bachelor project, The King in Yellow, is an immersive VR horror experience based on the works of the legendary author Robert Chambers. Visitors will witness the events of that fateful night when the infamous play premiered. They will encounter the mysterious author and experience the eerie scenes unfolding on stage right before their eyes. But beware: supernatural forces are at work in the old theater, and nothing is as it seems.
I designed the stage set that represents "Carcosa," the home of the King in Yellow. The main inspiration for the design was Cassilda's Song, which speaks of black stars and strange moons. Additionally, I created a miniature model of the stage, which features the start screen of the experience on its reverse side: a small back door leading into the theater.
